Key Takeaways

Why 18 Is the Standard
A lip flip uses a small amount of Botox Dysport Xeomin or Jeuveau to relax the muscles above the upper lip. These products are commonly used for cosmetic treatments in adults. They are not generally approved for cosmetic use in minors.
Because the procedure is elective providers also have ethical and professional responsibilities. Most clinics set the minimum age at 18 to make sure patients can provide informed consent and fully understand the treatment.

Do Age Requirements Change by Location
Yes they can.

Common Mistakes
- Assuming parental consent guarantees treatment.
- Thinking every clinic follows the same rules.
- Forgetting to bring photo identification.
- Believing turning 18 automatically guarantees approval.
- Confusing medical Botox treatments with cosmetic lip flips.
Why This Age Standard Exists
